Aceptada la candidatura para que las Fallas sean Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad

El Consejo de Patrimonio Histórico español ha aceptado hoy viernes la candidatura de las Fallas de Valencia para que puedan a ser declaradas por la Unesco Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad como manifestación artística, cultural y satírica y expresión viva de un pueblo a través de una festividad de origen vecinal. Esta buena noticia se produce a 10 días de la noche grande de Valencia. Pero aún queda un camino largo y complicado por recorrer.
Primero, el Consejo de Patrimonio Histórico, órgano que elige las candidaturas que se prestarán, por parte del Gobierno de España, ante la Unesco, ha precisado que en esta ocasión, junto a las Fallas de Valencia, se presentarán los Caballos del Vino de Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).

Toda una exhaustiva tarea de documentación se ha llevado a cabo para la redacción de la candidatura de las Fallas. La primera condición de la Unesco para realizar una declaración de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial es que se declare la fiesta como Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC). La Conselleria de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte ya lo ha hecho.

Ahora, el día 25 de marzo la Dirección General de Patrimonio Cultural enviará todo el expediente al Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte, el encargado de su tramitación a nivel internacional, para que lo remita a la Unesco antes del 30 de marzo. A partir de ahí la Unesco puede solicitar que se realicen modificaciones en el expediente presentado o que se aporte documentación nueva.

Después el Órgano Subsidiario del Comité Intergubernamental para la Salvaguardia del Patrimonio Cultural examinará las candidaturas, y recomendará o no que sean inscritas en la Lista Representativa del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad, y en 2013, el Comité del Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Unesco decidirá si las Fallas de Valencia son inscritas en la Lista Representativa del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad.

Now, on March 25 the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage will send the entire file to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, in charge of processing at the international level, for forwarding to UNESCO before 30 March. After that Unesco may request modifications are made in the dossier submitted or to be provided new documentation.

After the Subsidiary Body Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage to consider the nomination and recommend whether or not they are enrolled in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and in 2013, the Intangible Heritage Committee of Unesco decide whether Fallas of Valencia are inscribed on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
