Restauradas varias obras del Archivo de la Catedral de Valencia
El Instituto Valenciano de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales ha sido el encargado de realizar los trabajos de restauración de varios documentos en pergamino y otros libros del Archivo de la Catedral de Valencia
Entre las obras que han sido restauradas están tres pergaminos, uno fechado en 1296, cuyo contenido versa sobre la tregua de Jaime II con don Juan Manuel; el segundo, de 1352, sobre las Constituciones aprobadas por el obispo de Valencia Hugo de Fenollet; y un tercero, de 1451, conocido como la Bula de Oro, que recoge la concordia entre el papa Nicolás V y el rey Alfonso el Magnánimo
Entre los pergaminos destacan varios volúmenes de los Libros de Almoyna (siglo XIV) y de Protocolos Notariales (siglo XIV), además del Libro Consueta (siglo XVI)
A todos estos ejemplares se les ha quitado la capa de suciedad y hollín que tenían en la superficie, acumulado por su mal almacenamiento, múltiples traslados y el incendio que tuvo lugar en la Guerra Civil en la Catedral. La limpieza se ha llevado a cabo por medio de elementos mecánicos en los soportes, sellos y cintas de ligaduras; después fueron fotografiados y se elaboró una ficha descriptiva de su estado de conservación
Otras acciones fueron la limpieza de las matrices de bronce y hierro de los sellos, y su almacenaje en cajas especiales para su conservación
El Archivo de la Catedral de Valencia está considerado como uno de los archivos catedralicios más importantes de Europa, por la riqueza de sus fondos y la continuidad de sus series
Restored several works of the Archives of the Cathedral of Valencia
The Valencian Institute of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage has been commissioned to carry out restoration work on several documents on parchment and other books of the Archive of the Cathedral of Valencia
Among the works that have been restored are three scrolls, one dated 1296, whose content relates to the truce of James II to Don Juan Manuel, the second of 1352, the Constitutions approved by the bishop of Valencia Fenollet Hugo, and a third, of 1451, known as the Golden Bull, which reflects the harmony between Pope Nicholas V and King Alfonso the Magnanimous
Among the scrolls include several volumes of books Almoyna (XIV) and Notarial Protocols (XIV century), besides the Book Consueta (XVI century)
All these specimens have been taken off the dirt and soot layer on the surface that had accumulated by the bad storage, multiple moves and fire that took place in the Civil War in Cathedral. The cleaning was carried out by means of mechanical elements in the brackets, seals and tapes of bands, then were photographed and produced a fact sheet of their conservation status
Other actions included the cleaning of bronze and iron matrices of the seals, and storage in special storage boxes
